Chesapeake Biofuel and Pure Energy Form Strategic Alliance
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Chesapeake Biofuel
Company (CBC) of Richmond, Virginia and Pure Energy Corporation (PEC) of New
York have engaged in a business relationship targeting the burgeoning biofuels
industry. Chesapeake Biofuel has entered into a multi year exclusive
distribution contract with Pure Energy. The distribution agreement covers Pure
Energy's proprietary Puranol fuel formulation products with the lead
product being PEC's cleaner burning E-Diesel formulation for transit, truck
and off road vehicles. CBC will be marketing PEC's products in the Chesapeake
Bay Region. The companies have also agreed to work cooperatively in other
biofuel product development areas.
Chesapeake Biofuel Company, with over three million gallons of tank farm
capacity has designed its facilities to accommodate blending of materials to
produce commercial substitutes to traditional petroleum fuels. Peter
Moliterno, President of CBC said, "Pure Energy's experience in creating
ethanol-based engineered fuel formulations that deliver lower emissions and
superior performance provides CBC's customers with an added value proposition.
With energy security again a national imperative, we intend to provide part of
the solution with homegrown energy".
Pure Energy Corporation, the leader in engineered liquid fuel formulations
is credited for incorporating renewable fuel components, such as ethanol in
conventional fossil fuels, to create gasoline and diesel-based fuel blends
that work in both spark ignited and compression engines used in passenger cars
and trucks. Its P-Series fuel, developed in association with Princeton
University and designated by the U.S. Department of Energy as an "Alternative
Fuel" under US Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPACT), is made largely from
renewable ethanol and is essentially sulfur free. Pure Energy's breakthrough
Puranol based E-Diesel formulation allows for ethanol to be "splash
blended" with diesel creating a high performance low emission clean diesel
fuel that is cost effective and practical. Pure Energy has also pioneered a
viable integrated process to produce ethanol and high-value chemicals from
waste biomass sources such as municipal solid waste, agricultural residues and
other forestry and industrial wastes. Irshad Ahmed, President of Pure Energy
said, "Chesapeake Biofuel provides Pure Energy with a progressive commercial
focus for its products and technologies. We are very pleased to have an
alliance with a distribution leader in the biofuels industry."
